Violet Blonde is one of the latest in the Tom Ford fragrance empire. It offers powdery notes of iris and violet. It's glamorous and sophisticated, opens with violet leaf, Italian mandarin and pink pepper. The centerpiece of the composition consists of Tuscan iris absolute, Tuscan orris butter, Sambac jasmine and sampaquita. The base is home to elegant and sophisticated tones of musk, suede, cedar, vetiver and benzoin. A very very sexy fragrance...

Santal Blush is an enchanting, mysterious, glamorous and exotic woody - spicy scent. It is ruled by creamy notes of sandalwood and spices, with rich floral and woody tones. Also a very sexy fragrance, this one has more innocent tones to it and a perfect day wear for me personally.

I may be biast, but in my eyes Tom Ford cannot go wrong. Ever.

Skincare range review: SPIEZIA

I reviewed this range a little while ago and was totally surprized. It's effective, 100% organic, totally funky looking, home spa type ritual and I loved it!

Bottles and jars are made from recycled glass and caps are from aluminium. Product is so effective and concentrated, a 50ml jar should last you about 4-6 months and this also makes sure there is no waste and that product stays fresh right down to the bottom of the jar. All products are 100% organic and certified by the Soil Association.

I used the following:

Facial Cleanser: This amazing cleanser can even be left on the skin as a deep cleansing mask. It is of balm consistency and I loved the richness of it. Eucalyptus, Clary Sage and Clove essential oils decongest the pores and even helps remove waterproof makeup. It regulates sebum levels and feeds and soothes the skin. Even sensitive skin tones will love this.

It gets better...

Rose and Chamomile Gentle Face Scrub: This is the most 'organic' looking exfoliator you'll see in your life. The actual little plant particles and oils makes for a ultra amazing exfoliation. Wonderfully softening, healing and astringent, I found this a pleasure to use.

Floral Skin Toner: Is a pure blend of natural flower waters and essential oils. Now you can imagine how wonderful it feels on the skin! Us makeup artists love toners like this, as it removes left over cleanser, leaves the skin fed and not dry, so I can apply makeup right after if I need to. This toner will even help the moisturizer sink deeper into the skin. Smells of a bunch of flowers!

Nourishing Moisturizer: An amazing balm like moisturizer rich in antioxidants and vitamins A and E. Loved using this during the day time, didn't feel too heavy.

Rose and Vanilla Face Oil: Now this was phenomenal. I love oils on my skin, right? So this was pure euphoria for me. It hydrates deeply and I had a great time massaging this into my skin at night before bedtime. Heat the oil up in the palm of your hands to unlock the active ingredients and waft over your face before you start massaging. You'll love!

I truly had the most amazing time using this range!

DKNY Pure, with a drop of Verbena

Pure Verbena launches to us 12 February! I'm so excited, this fragrance is enriched with refreshing and citrusy aromas. Its composition is bright and refreshing citrus - floral - green. The main ingredients are basil and verbena from Africa (Togo, to be precise). Donna Karan supports Togo by purchasing all Verbena resources for this fragrance from them. Pure DKNY Verbena is opening with notes of verbena and basil, which are gradually softened with floral heart of jasmine, peony and honeysuckle, while the base notes include tender white amber, sea moss and vetiver.

La Prairie Cellular Power Charge Night

Last year La Prairie introduced a potent elixir to help awaken the power of the skin—Cellular Power Infusion. Now, to add to this revolutionary anti-aging line, the brand is launching a nighttime treatment—Cellular Power Charge Night—that combines Retinol, a skin renewal peptide, oxygen and more to recharge the skin’s cells and reduce lines, wrinkles and age spots during sleep.

“During the night, our body is in repair, renew and replenish mode; this is true for the skin as well,” said Lynne Florio, president of La Prairie. “Our scientists have created Cellular Power Charge Night to take advantage of this resting status to help our customers fight aging around the clock. After all, there’s no rest for the weary. . . or the skin.”

According to La Prairie, although Retinol has been used in many products over the years, the use of an oxygen carrier with it is new. The brand’s scientists knew that an optimum level of oxygen in the skin would enhance the cell turnover process stimulated by Retinol, but stability issues between the oxygen and Retinol have prevented the merging of the two in past formulas. Now, these same scientists have resolved the issue by placing the two ingredients in separate chambers, side by side, which allows the consumer to control the release of each and blend them together before application.

“The skin needs oxygen to look and perform at its youngest and its best, and it’s known that oxygellevels drop as the skin ages,” said Holly Genovese, vice president of training and retail marketing for La Prairie. “One of the mechanisms for recharging the skin is enhancing the oxygen level, which in turn supports the cell turnover process. This is accomplished in Cellular Power Charge Night via an oxygen transfer agent called Perfluorodecalin (PFD), which secures oxygen from the atmosphere, stores it and delivers it to the skin as needed, therefore supporting the skin’s self-regulation.”

The formula also includes a hydration system to address the possibility of the skin becoming drier as a result of the stimulating effect of Retinol. Other ingredients such as grapefruit cell extract and Vitamin E offer anti-oxidant protection, and sunflower seed oil helps to maintain the skin’s lipid barrier overnight.

I have been using my product so sparingly and I realised a little does go a long way. No need to slather it on, the formula itself is pretty powerful, rest assured.

ANGEL: from star to comet, a new eau de toilette

Thierry Mugler presents Angel Eau de Toilette, the new, modern version of the famous original Angel from 1992. The new fragrance comes in a bottle designed as a comet, symbolizing eternal renewal, and is made so that it simultaneously exudes freshness, innocence and sensuality expressed with deep oriental - gourmand components. Launches in South Africa 9 April 2012.

The composition is described as an oriental - gourmand - powdery, developing in "waves" as a “whirlwind of desires”. The fragrance opens with heavenly fresh wave of bergamot and pink pepper, which is slowly replaced by delightful wave of praline and dewy red fruits. Voluptuous wave brings notes of patchouli, cedar wood, vanilla and white musk.

Visible Brilliance Serum - If you have normal skin tone and don't like too rich on your skin but like the serum feel, you'll love this. Actively re-energising and brightening the complex, this serum is ideal for fatigued and tired looking skin.

Maximum Moisture Day Cream - This cream is amazing in the fact that it really does give maximum moisture, but not at all in a thick, oily, shiny, heavy way. Britney fragrances I adore

Love her or hate her, Britney Spears has a good team when it comes to creating fragrances with her name on it. The packaging is always totally luxurious and the fragrances have the way of epitomizing exactly what she had in mind for each of them.

Here's my top 3:

BELIEVE
This fragrance was promoted using the slogan: "The greatest freedom is to believe in yourself." A slightly younger Britney launches this fragrance in 2007 and it blows my mind how absolutely beautiful this bottle is. Faceted. Facets of Britney? Angular, straight lines, simply beautiful.
Opening in fruity mouthwatering tangerine and guava, the heart is delicate and pure with linden blossom and honeysuckle, ending off in a sensual accord of patchouli and amber. A lovely fruity smell, but not too sweet.

RADIANCE
Can you believe this was her 9th fragrance? Launched in 2010 it shows a slightly more grown-up Britney. This is an alluring blend of aromas: berries, tuberose, jasmine, orange blossom, iris and musk.

The totally glamorous bottle with pink and turquoise rhinestones decorating the outside is just too pretty!

COSMIC RADIANCE
The latest of Britney's fragrances, I must reveal this one to be my favorite. As an addition to the Radiance brand, this one has black and glittery stones decorating the outside of the bottle. A little bit more of a serious, definitely more mature Britney.

Cosmic Radiance which is inspired by the brightest star in the cosmos bursts open with a wonderful aroma of citrus and glittery red bouquet. Base notes add twinkle and warmth with amber, soft vanilla and creamy sandalwood.

These two new fragrances from Diesel give a boost to the senses. They are fresh and sexy and fit like a great pair of jeans! Once again I love what Diesel has brought out in their new "Fueled for Life" Denim Collection His and Hers Fragrances.

For Him is a sexy woody citrus. Energetic youth with the freshness of aromatic citrus and lavender and dry wood for a modern touch.

For Her is a woody floral. The freshness of raspberry and jasmine combines perfectly with sensual and modern touch of ambergris and dry wood.

Diesel just always gets it right. I always get loads of compliments when wearing any Diesel fragrance.

The packaging is too cool with the bottle in it's own printed denim cover and zip on the side. Totally youthful - I love it!

I simply have no words to describe this body balm. Seriously. I didn't know whether to smooth it on or eat it with a spoon. Smells like summer on some fab island. The coconut and pineapple is a perfect combination and the texture is fantastic!

This super amazing energizing spritz has be refreshed and awake every time I use it! It has the most amazingly clean smell, you'll love it. Spritz all over body and around face (not close to eye area) after a cool shower.

Super rich, super effective and really really worth it. I hate wearing sunblocks, although I have to, and this one made it so much more pleasant!

On Monday past, I was invited by the ladies at Molton Brown to visit them and experience the true wonder that the brand entails in the form of a luxurious hand and arm massage with the range of my choice. Truly spoilt for choice, I stood in front of each range for countless seconds to try and decide...

Not only is the counter a absolute pleasure to visit, it envelops the client in true Molton Brown luxury and style.

One of my favorite ranges is the Blissful Templetree, which is what I chose my massage to be done with. It's inspired with the Maldives and really is a holiday in a bottle. Trust me.

Applied in the evening, after thorough cleansing and toning, a small amount on face and neck still damp with Toning Lotion, avoiding the eye area, is a feeling I wish every one of you could feel. GAP Close is a clean, modern, light fragrance. It's almost salty and lemony, and so fresh it reminded me of that fresh shower smell. With notes of freesia, jasmine, sandalwood, amber and vanilla this will be a firm favorite for daytime.

GAP Stay perfume for women is a floral woody musky fragrance made to persuade. It's top notes are lemon and freesia, middle notes peony and lotus and base notes get woody with sandalwood and amber. A darker alternative to the above sister Close.

GAP Core for men is a simple, fresh, clean and sexy fragrance and is as comfortable as wearing your favorite jeans and T-shirt. I wear this myself and don't find it too masculine at all due to the freshness of it.

Such a beautifully packaged palette, totally professional looking with 58 eyeshadow colours, 2 blushers and 1 bronzer! Apart from a lippy, a pencil and mascara you don't have to pack anything else when you're off on your summer holiday. Total value for money at R179,99 - I was honestly very pleasantly surprized.

I test, right? I review. I get to play. I get to see so many things and sometimes there is something you're looking for and try as you may you can't find it exactly as you want it.

I had that with finding a red eyeshadow. I've talked about my white lips phase, my black lippy phase, all the makeup phases I'm going through. Now I'm hitting the red eyeshadow phase. Hard. I've looked for one for years. And I'm not talking about any red, it has to be a proper eyeshadow with shimmer and whatnot that all eyeshadows normally have. I tried substituting with other red product and powders, but I was left wanting....

Until I hit the Inglot store again a while ago. I nearly fainted when I saw the most perfect shimmery red eyeshadow I could possibly imagine! Look out for me and my red eyes this season!

Cutest and best little brush set I saw at INGLOT

On doing my beauty rounds at Inglot recently I saw this amazing little brush set. Upon a closer look I realised with this brush set you don't need anything else apart from maybe a foundation brush. And if you are someone who applies foundation with sponges or fingers you REALLY don't need anything else. Best news is this brush set is small and compact, fantastic Inglot quality and comes in a pouch to travel in. At just under R400 I'm sorry - this is one of the best buys I've come across in ages.

Looking at the picture at the top, here's what brushes you'll find in this little set and what I would use them for:

Literally. Last week with the V&A Waterfront Cape Town store opening I walked into a whole new world. I have never in my life been in a more beautiful, opulent, luxurious, relaxing, inviting, stunning, did I say beautiful, shop. These rainbow colours took my breath away. I built my own palette, as seen above. Trust me, one doesn't do it. Isn't it picture perfect? I can stare all day...

See, Inglot has what they call a Freedom System. This means you can build your own palettes for lipsticks, blush, eyeshadows and foundation. Or even customize one bigger palette with all of the above. Love. Love. Love.

Hello? Can you say yellow? My hotties for season is the above for sure. The middle one above is exactly the same colour as Chanel Mimosa. Just saying...

Obsessed with nail art at the moment, it's going to be HUGE this season, mark my words. These colours should do it and what I really liked is the extra fine little point it comes out of, ideal for intricate designs.

This UV gloss is the bizniz! It actually glows under UV lights, ideal for those summer clubbing nights. The colour is nr 545.

Not a gold wearer at all, I mean it gets so bad that when clothes or a bag has gold or bronze zips/studs I won't buy it, this gold pigment really did it for me. Testing the waters with gold tones this season, wish me luck! Gold pigment is colour nr 37.

The liquid liner is smooth and watery and applies really really well. The colour I chose was nr 41, a silvery gold colour.
